Prediction of coefficient of friction for Aluminum Billet

چکیده
In the metal forming process, a realistic frictional coefficient must be specified at the die/work piece interface. Several methods are developed to evaluate friction coefficient in large deformation processes. This paper presents the concept of friction calibration map to determine different frictional conditions between interfaces of die and billet in the upsetting process. One such map is generated for aluminum for three aspect ratios. Simulation and experimental verification of this map also attempted to show the accuracy of one map. Experimental and Neural Network Prediction of Elongation and Spread after First Stage of Fullering
Fullering process is a type of open die forging. In this research, elongation and maximum sideways spread in final shape of a billet after the first blow of a fullering process are predicted by designing a back propagation multilayer perceptron neural network. Several experiments are conducted using lead as the model material. Billets with three different square cross-sections are used in these...

متن کاملInvestigation of the Forming Force in Torsion Extrusion Process of Aluminum Alloy 1050
In this paper, torsion extrusion (TE) process on 1050 aluminum alloy was investigated by simulation as a severe plastic deformation (SPD) method and the effects of friction coefficient, angular velocity of the rotating die and punch speed on maximum punch force were studied. A finite element (FE) model was developed to simulate the TE process via DEFORM software. The FE results were validated co...
متن کاملSimulation of Material Plastic Flow and Morphology During Friction Stir Welding of Stainless Steel to Aluminum Alloy Dissimilar Joint
Today, steel to aluminum joints are used to facilitate transportation and fuel consumption. These joints are applied from nuclear, aerospace and naval to automobile and kitchen industries. According to previous studies fusion welding processes are not suitable methods for these joints, solid-state welding, especially friction stir welding, is a proper way to use for these joints. However, using...
